Field Sparrows are common summer residents in Southern New Jersey. I have also seen Field Sparrows at the Brigantine Wildlife refuge in the winter months. The majority of the Field Sparrow photographs I took come from Higbee Beach in Cape may Point NJ. Field Sparrows are very active and you can get close to them fairly easily. A number of my Field Sparrow photographs have been published. The scientific name for the Field Sparrow is Spizella pusilla. |
